Waste Protocols Project
This consultation website has been set up so you can take part in the consultations on the quality protocols for various waste materials. The website also allows you to find out more about the Waste Protocols project and to view documents.
Review sessions - displaying comments received and a summary report - are currently open for the following:
- Quality Protocol for the production of processed cullet from waste flat glass
- Quality Protocol for the manufacture of secondary raw materials from waste non-packaging plastics
- Quality Protocol for the production and use of tyre-derived rubber materials
- Quality Protocol for the production and use of waste vegetable oil derived biodiesel (WVO).
Latest news: A summary report on the workshops for Anaerobic Digestate recently held by the Waste Protocols Project in Cardiff and London is now available for download (pdf document, file size 1.1 MB, opens in a new window).

The Waste Protocols Project is a Business Resource Efficiency project funded by the Department for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs (Defra). It is a joint Environment Agency and WRAP (Waste & Resources Action Programme) initiative in collaboration with industry.
